![]() ![]() Tip: Left-hand channel for stereo signals, positive phase for balanced mono signals, signal line for unbalanced mono signalsĤ. Ring: Right-hand channel for stereo signals, negative phase for balanced mono signals, power supply for power-requiring mono signal sourcesģ. ![]() ![]() OR maybe it is working because the tip isnt touching the right position?Ģ. And the sleeve cant be the problem because as you mentioned it is a part common on all Input or output cables, yet that is the part that has to stay out to work. It cant be messed up as, I have proven it works to myself on multiple things, including the exact same laptop as fedora is on. They have said that TS is just mono, and TRS, has the Tip/Ring/Sleeve, the sleeve being there to ground the connection. (one extra ring and contact for the built in mic on the headphones. So yeah that would be my exact same speculation as well, (the connection is broken) but it cant be because it totally contradicts itself in windows.īut yes this is very strange, I just looked up a ton on TRS, TS, and TRSS that my iPhone actually uses. So they didn't work on there from the get go, but they work on windows afterwards with no problems. The second time they were used since they were bought was on Fedora 13. I have used that same connection with other headphones (iphone earbuds, and some cheap over ear headphones) and never had a problem. Then tried it again in Fedora and it didnt work, but if I go back to windows there is no problem whatsoever. Its brand new, just worked in windows 7, and my iphone about 5 minutes ago. Last edited by ThirdEye 12th January 2011 at 02:34 it cant be. Thank you so much for going over this for me, I hope someone who is Linux audio savvy can help me. What's the Yum repo for LMMS? and what do I type in after Yum install.? is it LMMS.i586 still? I'm not getting the Full on bass I would like, and I would prefer full support.ĭoes Fedora 13 support 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby digital surround sound?Īnd Is there an effective EQ open source program I can get, to get the best out of my headphones? I only use FLAC for my library, but I guess I guess I could say that the quality is slightly off. I can tell much of a difference in audio quality. Like I said, I can make it work when I only plug the headphones in slightly, but if they are bumped the sound is gone, or if they are pushed in, it goes silent as well. So, as u can see, I cant go past the second band, or audio is gone. So my best guess is my out of the box drivers from Fedora 13 do not support stereo, or my 7.1, or even 5.1 for that matter.īut here is a pic of what my 2.5mm stereo headphone jack looks like. I can understand why, I have been told the second rubber type band on the input on a audio output or input device is for Stereo. The headphones work outstandingly on my Laptop with 7.1 Dolby digital when I boot into super slow M$ Windoze 7, but when I use my main OS, Fedora 13, I can only get the headphones to work when they are plugged in just a little bit, but not to less and not to far. They work great on my iPhone with Apple Lossless Audio Codec, converted from Free Lossless Audio Codec with Xrecode. Recently I bought some brand new BOSE on ear headphones. But here it is, I believe I may need a driver. This isn't a very big problem I'm having, as I have a temporary solution. ![]()
